Field Trip Day
First field trip day of the semester! (typically Monday's are going to be field trip days) Today our field trip was called the Jerusalem Overlook Day. We went to different locations all around the city to view it from different perspectives. My favorite stops were at the Augusta Victoria Tower Church. The chapel had amazing acoustics and they allowed us to sing "Nearer My God to Thee" which was so powerful. It sounded so angelic! Then we got to climb 200+ stairs up the tower to a beautiful view of Jerusalem. My other favorite stop was the Garden Tomb. It was not really what I was expecting it to be but that being said I didn't really know what I was expecting. It is just so interesting to me that such sacred sites are just built around with city and traffic and everything. A tour guide took us on a tour of the site but my favorite part was at the end when my group gathered in a corner of the garden and sang hymns. What a powerful experience to sing "I know that my Redeemer lives!" at the place that He conquered death. The spirit was so strong. I love the power of music especially the hymns! What a wonderful spirit they bring. Sorry that is a really quick update but I need to go to bed...it's a long day of classes tomorrow that I need to stay awake for ;)
